Tharmenel by GizTheGunslinger
How could I resist drawing Tharmenel’s portrait? There was no chance! So here it is. If you don’t know who Tharmenel is, then you’d better go here (there is not that much information, but it could be quite helpful). This time no wings, because I decided to concentrate on his face only. Unfortunately it is practically impossible to see his eyes, but they have a magnificent colours: violet, blue and yellow. Guess I gotta draw a close-up with his eyes. In his necklace he’s wearing a feather from the wing of his beloved, so that he could always feel her presence.
Here is a photo with another perspective of the drawing: it has a better colouring which is closer to the original one.

If you want to see another art with him go here: The one of her kind This character is based on Richard Armitage as a model.
Tools: ink, coloured pencils, hours of music.

I am straight. I’ve never had any prejudice against homosexuals because I hold in high respect the right of each and every man and woman to have their own supraliminal choices. If I’ll ever become a homophobe that’ll be all slashers merits. Why? Well, because they are so aggressive at their points of view and at the methods they prove their cases, that it makes me feel defective, like there is something wrong with me. You ask to be tolerant, but you are intolerant as well. Gays actually never afford themselves to speak rudely on such questions, but slashers do and it makes so much more harm to the situation as a whole. It’s hard not to offend someone in our time just by hasty saying, because nowadays everyone have their own views and beliefs. But please, don’t do it intentionally, maybe then it’ll be a little bit easier to live on this planet.

Why do normal people are going to the cinemas to see Guardians of the Galaxy: because of Groot and Rocket the Raccoon.

Why I am going to see Guardians of the Galaxy: because of The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies teaser-trailer before it.

50 shades of yellow by GizTheGunslinger

Here I portrayed John Thornton, the mill owner, from “North and South”, played by Richard Armitage. Yellow roses have some special meaning in N&S. Sorry for the title, but I was thinking about it all the time when I was drawing all those roses in the background XD

Tools: 4H - 9B pencils, coloured pencils.

The one of her kind by GizTheGunslinger
When I’ve seen “Maleficent” I liked the movie a lot. Well, mostly I was impressed by Maleficent in person. She is magnificent! But after all I was tormenting myself with one question: is she the last one of her kind? Are there any other fairies like her? Of course it is wonderful that she has Aurora, who is like a daughter to Maleficent. But she is not of the same “breed”, as well as Diaval the raven. Long story short, I decided to “find” her a fairy man :D And… a-hem… erm… as a model I used Richard Armitage (but there was such a good reference with him, I couldn’t resist!) He came out to be unexpectedly blond and with variegated wings. I have to admit that I sucked at drawing wings :T But only after I drew them I studied the structure of the wings and the next time I’ll be prepared much better.
I don’t have any story or background for them, only this picture and the name for him – Tharmenel (gosh, it’s so hard to invent a name for AU character! I used Tolkien elvish language for it, so it does have a meaning ;) ). But now it’s some kind of my head canon :3
Tools: ink, coloured pencils, strong will to draw this picture.

darthfar:

Richard Armitage for Cas. So done with this. After who even knows how many hours of cramped hand and bleeding eyes…
Because I saved a whole pile of WIP screenshots of the whole painting process, I amused myself by putting them together into a video. You can check it out here: Animated Process.
[No, I have no idea of why Photobucket made the starting look so pixelly, or why the overall quality is a goddamn horror show. Blargh.]

God gracious! This is absolutely amazing! I just can’t stop staring at it. All the details and the colours… I can’t even…

"The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies" teaser-trailer

Now I’ve gained back my ability to think, speak and discuss the BOTFA teaser-trailer. Pippin’s song got an effect like the wind being knocked out of me. To use for teaser of the final part of “The Hobbit”, the sixth film about Middle-Earth the song which Pippin sang to Denethor, who just sent his last son, the son he despised greatly, to certain death - it’s an apotheosis. And I’ve got this thought: what if this song was written by Bilbo during this developments? And many years after Pippin heard him singing it or read in his notebook? now if someone will draw a comic on it I’ll be grateful

Few words have been said in this teaser, but each of them is like a heavy stone. As S.King would say: like a strike of a fist on a lid of a coffin. That’s just how everything is being pierced with pain and fear.

It is only now that I realized that Kili, Fili, Bofur and Oin are again with the rest of the dwarves. The fellowship is not broken! They will be all together at the last stand. And it cheers me up… a little bit.

But have you noticed how Kili changed? Well, there were only a few glimpses with him and I can’t say for sure, but for me he doesn’t look like this merry guy he was before. And pay attention at the moment when Thorin declares war. Kili is standing near him. Look at his face. He sees what’s happening with his uncle, but he can’t do anything and he knows: whatever happens he’ll stand side by side with Thorin.

When Galadriel kisses Gandalf it’s… it feels me with emotions so greatly that I can’t even put it into words! Just feel this power of compassion and  love coming from her.

Dain’s cavalry consisting in heavily armoured war rams and dwarves is absolutely freaking cool! I can’t even say something against it, because it’s bloody mind-blowing! They’re like little tanks.

Today than ever before I felt the sadness of the upcoming movie. For me “The Hobbit” will never be as great and magnificent as “The Lord of the Rings”. But I do believe BOTFA will be nothing less than “The Return of the King”. We have to believe in it. We really have to.
